Labonnet Ltd. was founded in February 2006 by Dr. Tzachi Bar, a director in Labonnet and Dr. Ales Tichopad, who is the company's CTO.
Labonnet had operated for two years within the framework of Kinarot - The Jordan Valley Technological Incubator, having raised its initial funds from the Office of the Chief Scientist (OCS) of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor of Israel, and private investors.
The core know-how of the company was recognized and honored with the grand prize of the Eighth Danish Biotechnology forum and the BIZTEC'05 pre-seed venture competition organized by the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa. It is this core know-how that helped Labonnet to begin achieving its vision, to optimize DNA diagnostics based on real-time PCR.
